Equestrian Access Groups

Norden, Bamford & Heywood Bridleways Association was formed in 2022 to plug a gap that had developed in our Area. There was a need for a Bridleways Association that represents the views of its Members, treats them with respect and serves the wider Equestrian Community.

We aim to do this by working closely with the Rochdale Rights of Way Officer and other Voluntary Organisations within the Area to improve the Bridleway Network.

We aim to improve access for horse riders and make a safer riding environment. We give details of good local rides in Cheshire and countrywide and campaign for safer riding on highways.

The North Lancashire Bridleways Society (NLBS) aims to ensure the future of bridleways in North Lancashire by providing practical assistance where we can, eg by repairing gates or clearing routes.  We seek to liaise closely with landowners, farmers, local authorities etc to maintain, improve and, where possible, promote new horse-friendly riding routes

North Staffordshire Bridleways Association was formed in February 1991. An advert in the local newspaper drew an overwhelming response from riders of every age and type from around North Staffordshire, Cheshire border and Shropshire.
