Raise while you ride

Due to Covid-19, Ride Out UK will be a little different this year. We usually have some fantastic organised rides throughout the UK but due to current circumstances, unfortunately these will be unable to take place. However! There is still the Rideathon challenge which you can do individually. The money raised will still go towards restoring and improving your riding routes, so get involved!

Rideathon

Join our hacking challenge! Ride 70km and raise £70 (or more!) to help improve and create bridleways and multi-user routes. Your support will help every UK horse and rider have a safe place to ride off-road, and it’s a great way to bring your horse back into work. Take the challenge at your own pace, splitting the distance up over as many days as you wish and you can carriage drive, walk, cycle or complete it anyway you like, just make sure you stick to the Government guidelines for your country.

Top fundraiser Ann Atkinson raised £715 last year, by riding 100 miles in 6 days across the Lancashire Pennine Way.

"Rideathon appealed to me for three reasons; I love riding my horses in the countryside, I am very keen to help protect and improve UK bridleways and lastly I wish to support The BHS’s valuable work.

The highlights for me were the spectacular views from high up on the moors, and above all, the bond, trust and understanding that I forged with my saintly steed, Ginger!"

Why do we Raise Money?

The BHS Ride Out Fund has helped provide multi-user routes across the UK since being launched in 2015. Read more of our success stories and find out where the fund has gone so far. The more we raise, the more projects we can assist with funding and improve the lives of equestrians and other users around the UK.

Whitmoor Common Before & After "Accessing funding was vital for our resurfacing project on Whitmoor Common. The route was treacherous and at times completely submerged, and with riding areas so limited here we desperately needed a change. It’s an absolute joy to ride now and it’s made such a difference to the community. Thank you so much to everyone raising money for the Ride Out Fund”
Philippa Wright, Chair of Worplesdon and District Bridleways Association
