Becoming a Platinum Rider – stride by stride

1: If you haven’t already signed up, fill in the below form

2: Set up a digital fundraising page

Raising whilst riding has never been easier. Most riders set up a JustGiving page where you can write a short story about why you’re fundraising, and you can add pictures and more info as you go along.

You can also share it on your social pages – the more people that can see you, the more likely you are to get a few quid donated to your cause. You can also set up a fundraising page on our Facebook.

Not a digital whizz kid? Don’t worry, just print a copy of our paper sponsor form.

3: Tracking your miles

Simply track your miles by using one of the many free smart phone apps available, such as Equilab or Endomondo. For help downloading your GPX files, Endomondo has a handy free guide.

Alternatively, you can track your hacks using the Platinum Riders Tracking card.

There’s no time limit to complete the challenge, just try to finish by 31 October. If you can’t, don’t worry – as long as you’ve signed up and fundraise we’ll still support you.

4: Rewards

We want to reward you for all your amazing fundraising efforts and give you something as a keepsake. Can you surpass these fundraising milestones?

  • Raise £70 and you will receive a certificate and special rosette
  • Raise £175 and you will receive a BHS Challenge Award hoodie
  • Raise over £250 and the top two fundraisers will win a Thorowgood saddle and fitting by a qualified saddle fitter

5: Picture perfect & leader of the hack

We all love taking photos when out on a hack, share your snaps with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using #RideOutUK so we can all have a look at the beautiful places you ride. Why not tell your yard bestie about the challenge too so they can join in on the action.

6: Sending your stuff back

Once you’ve completed your target and raised your funds, email our fundraising team ( and attach your GPX files and link to your online fundraising page to show you’ve smashed the challenge.

If you’ve tracked your fundraising by paper, send your tracking card, sponsor form and cheque written out to ‘The British Horse Society’ to:
