On 29 April 2018, BHS Somerset held their first Horse Health Check Clinic at the World Horse Welfare Glenda Spooner Centre at Kingsdon. The aim was to give horse owners the chance to bring their horses to be looked at by a selection of professionals who would give advice, but not treat on the day.
There was a broad selection of experts including sports therapists, physiotherapists, saddlers, bitting specialists and nutritional advisors with a weigh bridge who very kindly gave their time for free to enable horse owners to tap into some expert advice relating to their own horses.
The day was a great success and both the horse owners and professionals felt it was a very worthwhile day.
BHS Somerset would like to thank the following people who gave up their time.
Katy Bower, Equine Sports Therapist from Positive Effects
Jo Baker, Saddlery
Kat Clarke, Chartered Physiotherapist
Sue Paine, Bitting Consultant from Horse Bit Fit
Melissa Cooper, McTimoney Chiropractor
Roshan Karkhairan from Top Spec
