BHSQ, our awarding organisation, are formally withdrawing some old qualifications and will no longer accept new registrations.
BHS no longer deliver these qualifications for new learners/candidates and would like to reassure candidates currently wishing to book their assessment with us that you will not be affected.
For learners/candidates who have started and achieved sections or units of any qualification listed below BHS will provide options for you to complete your qualification against the current syllabus BHS is delivering. You can read our guidance, or contact the BHS Education Team for further advice. We’ll always have an option for you to achieve your qualification.

BHSQ has formally notified the regulators of the intention to withdraw the following qualifications:
• 501/1870/5 BHSQ Level 1 Certificate in BHS Horse Knowledge and Care
• 501/1852/3 BHSQ Level 1 Certificate in BHS Riding Horses
• 600/7945/9 BHSQ Level 5 Diploma In BHS Intermediate Teaching of Horse Riding
• 600/8249/5 BHSQ Level 5 Diploma In Coaching Horse Riders for Competition
• 600/7810/8 BHSQ Level 5 Diploma in Coaching Horse Riders for the Commercial Environment
The final date BHSQ will accept registrations for these qualifications is 31 August 2026. As of 1 September 2026, these qualifications will cease to be operational.
The final date BHSQ will accept claims for certification is 31 August 2027. As of 1 September 2027, these qualifications will be withdrawn.
