Join us for a two‑hour clinic focused on gaining the confidence you want cross country.
This clinic combines off‑horse confidence coaching followed by a ridden cross‑country session, supporting you both mentally and practically when riding cross country.
1️⃣First Session: Unmounted
Sasha will give you some practical mind set tools you can use straight away to improve your focus and confidence, helping you feel calmer and more prepared before getting on. Light refreshments are provided during this first part of the clinic making sure that you have the nutrients and energy to enjoy the cross country.
2️⃣Second Session: Mounted
Amie will then take you to Derby Colleges small cross county field for the ridden part of the clinic. We have chosen this venue with nervous and novice combinations in mind, the contained field with inviting fences of 40 - 80 cm, ideal for building confidence. We promise you a supportive, confidence‑building environment, focusing on positive experiences and having fun. Groups are limited to four riders to allow individual attention.
This clinic is suitable if you or your horse are new to cross‑country, rebuilding confidence, or simply wanting to feel more confident and prepared.
Meet Your Coaches
⭐Sasha Whitaker, BHS APC Senior Coach and Centre10 Advanced Coach.
I have worked in the equestrian industry for over 30 years, with a strong focus on welfare and young horse production. A question I was repeatedly asked myself was: riders know what to do, but why can’t they always apply it? That curiosity led me to train as a Centre10 Advanced Coach, using practical, applied sports psychology to help riders turn knowledge into confident, effective performance. Whether mindset work is brand new to you or something you’ve tried before, I can help you refocus and feel mentally prepared for your cross‑country session.
⭐Amie Foster, BHS APC Senior Coach.
I’ve coached riders from grassroots level right through to affiliated competition in British Dressage and BSJA. I take a professional but supportive approach, and I’m really passionate about helping both riders and horses get the very best out of themselves. I especially enjoy working with nervous riders, focusing on building confidence in a calm, encouraging way. Whether you’re looking to feel more comfortable in your everyday riding or have ambitions to move towards competition, I tailor my coaching to suit you.
