Yogi Breisner FBHS
In 1992 Yogi became a Fellow of The British Horse Society and in 2000 was appointed World Class Performance Manager and Chef d’Equipe to the British Eventing team. He had just eight months to get to know the squad before the Sydney Olympics, at which they won team silver, Britain’s first eventing Olympic medal for 12 years. He has been instrumental in the development of coaching initiatives across all levels of the sport and in addition to the senior team he also oversaw the pony, junior and young rider teams. Yogi has since led medal winning teams at the 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic Games in addition to enjoying many successes at the European Championships, World Equestrian Games and at Rio 2016. Yogi is also in demand as a coach teaching both jockeys and horses to jump for National Hunt racing and regularly lectures at the British Racing School.
Laura Collett started her competitive equestrian career in the show ring, winning the supreme pony title at Horse of the Year Show in 2003 when she was 13. When she moved across to eventing, Laura proved a force to be reckoned with through the pony, junior and young rider ranks. She won nine medals during her youth career, including three individual golds. Since moving into senior competition, Laura has been selected for three European Championships as an individual. Laura Collett was second at Luhmühlen five-star in 2018 on Mr Bass, but she achieved her first five-star win in October 2020 when she took the title at Pau Horse Trials, France, riding her own, Keith Scott and Karen Bartlett’s London 52. Laura therefore has the honour of winning the only five-star of 2020 because the eventing calendar that year was decimated by Covid-19.
