Inspirational equestrian coach is recognised with national award

Sue Lynch, a qualified British Horse Society (BHS) Stage 3 coach, has been awarded an Inspirational Educator national award at The Educators’ Trust Awards in recognition of her work helping young people strive towards a brighter future.

Sue Lynch, a qualified British Horse Society (BHS) Stage 3 coach, has been awarded an Inspirational Educator national award at The Educators’ Trust Awards in recognition of her work helping young people strive towards a brighter future.

Presented by The Worshipful Company of Educators, the awards celebrate outstanding educators, trainers, and practitioners across different sectors. The only equestrian coach or organisation to be recognised, Sue was awarded for the work she has done delivering the British Horse Society’s Changing Lives Through Horses programme at the Nuneaton and North Warwickshire Equestrian Centre.

Since its inception at the Centre in 2021, Sue has supported over 60 young people through the programme, tailoring every element of the learning journey to ensure participant’s individual attributes shine through.

Commenting on her award, Sue Lynch said: “I was honoured to be nominated, and extremely proud to have won it. I feel that I’ve won not only in recognition of the work that the team at Nuneaton and North Warwickshire Equestrian Centre and I do, but for all the Changing Lives Through Horses coaches.

“Helping the children and young people we work with to achieve their goals is very rewarding. Many are lacking in confidence and worried about ‘getting it wrong’ so it’s wonderful to see their confidence grow, and it’s so important to recognise and acknowledge every achievement.

Alison Blackmore, Head of Changing Lives Through Horses at British Horse Society said: “For so many young people, the Changing Lives Through Horses programme enables them to not only reconnect with education but also to believe in their own potential again. Sue has gone above and beyond to help participants gain confidence and has supported her team to deliver the programme with empathy, passion, kindness, determination and a total understanding of each individual’s needs.
