Giving you peace of mind

Writing a Will is one of the most important ways to protect the people you care about.


It also gives you the opportunity to pass on your love of horses. After taking care of your family and loved ones, we hope you'd consider leaving a gift to British Horse Society. These gifts help improve horse welfare, make riding safer, protect access to the countryside, and support riders for years to come.

 

Write your Will for free

 

We’ve partnered with two trusted Will-writing providers so you can write or update your Will at no cost to you. You can choose the option that suits you best:

 

  • Visit a local solicitor in person through the National Free Wills Network
  • Write your Will online or over the phone with Octopus Legacy


Our free Will-writing services cover the cost of a simple Will. If your estate is more complex, there may be an additional cost, which your chosen provider will explain before you begin.


There is no obligation to include a gift to British Horse Society when using these services. Your Will remains completely private and under your control.


How it works

 

  1. Choose the Will-writing option below that suits you best.
  2. Follow the steps with your chosen provider to write or update your Will.
  3. Once you've provided for your loved ones, we hope you choose to leave a gift to British Horse Society.

Write a free Will in person with a solicitor

The National Free Wills Network has over 1,000 participating law firms across the UK, which means there is usually a solicitor close to where you live. When you request a pack, the National Free Wills Network will send you details of participating solicitors in your area. You can then arrange an appointment with the solicitor of your choice to have your Will written.

Write a free Will online or over the phone

If you’d prefer to complete your Will from home, you can use Octopus Legacy. Their online service allows you to write your Will at your own pace, or you can speak to their team over the phone if you would prefer guidance through the process.
