With funding from the Department for Transport, The BHS is currently undertaking a major piece of research to help inform our future strategy and campaign plans around road safety.
Our Dead Slow initiative has significantly raised awareness of the dangers posed to horses and riders when on the roads, but we are looking to build on this with more statistics and a greater understanding of the concerns and experiences of as many individual equestrians as possible. To this end, if you are aged over 18, are resident in the UK and have ridden, carriage driven or have been involved in handling horses and/or ponies on public roads at any time at all in the last 12 months, please could you take 15-20 minutes to complete this very important survey?
Please also share the link on your social media channels and encourage as many friends and family members as you can to do the same.
The survey will be live until 9th July.
Thank you very much. Your input will help us campaign to make the UK road network safer for us all, improve the reporting of incidents and, ultimately, to save the lives of horses, ponies and those who love and care for them.
