The British Horse Society (BHS) recognised the best of the equestrian world, at its annual awards ceremony, held in Saddler's Hall, London on Friday.
Amongst those recognised this year were HRH the Princess Royal, Mike Tucker and Hannah Francis.
HRH the Princess Royal, received the Queen’s Award for Equestrianism, recognising the achievements she has made, both as a competitor and as a supporter.
HRH the Princess Royal is Patron of The Pony Club, President of both World Horse Welfare and the RDA (Riding for Disabled) and is Vice Patron of British Showjumping.
BHS President, Martin Clunes presented Princess Anne with her award, speaking at the event he said: "It’s always a thrill rewarding the volunteers and members; it was particularly exciting this year to give HRH Princess Anne an award for her outstanding contribution to the equine industry."
Lynn Petersen, Chief Executive of the BHS said: “This is a special day, celebrating and recognising the incredible achievements of our wonderful volunteers. Their dedication to the BHS makes all the difference.”

The Lady Elizabeth Kirk Award - For the best voluntary dedication of a bridleway - Gateshead Council
Safety Award - For excellent service by a person, persons or group in the case of road safety in their community - Sue Russell (Horses & Road Safety Awareness)
Tarquin Trophy - For the organisation, business or business associate which has made a significant contribution to equestrian safety - Askham Bryan College
Welfare Award - For excellent service in the cause of equestrian welfare - Sheila Brooks and Lynn Myland
Approvals Award - For the Approved Centre that has made the greatest difference in their community - Pakefield Riding School
Education Award, Instructor of the Year - For the instructor who has made the greatest difference to their students and in the field of equestrian training - Becky Johnson BHSI
Fundraising Award - For a superlative effort in raising funds for the Society - Claire Robinson
British Riding Clubs Riding Club of the Year - For the club which has gained the most points during the year - Rochdale & District Riding Club
British Riding Clubs Volunteer of the Year - For the person who has dedicated their time and expertise at both local and national level - Anne Kidd
Young Person's Award - For a person aged below 25 years who shows outstanding potential and achievement - Michael Fraser
Helen Barton-Smith Silver Strirrup Award - For meritorious work in support of young riders - Jenny Leggate
Volunteer of the Year - For the volunteer who has made a positive impact on their fellow volunteer and/or significant achievement for the Society - Ann Kennedy
Chairman's Commendation - For exceptional work by a BHS committee, British Riding Club or Equestrian Access Group - BHS South Yorkshire Committee
Equine Personality of the Year - For the horse or pony that does the most for people - Wil
The Elwyn Hartley-Edwards Award - For a writer, broadcaster or publication whose work has been particularly beneficial to the well-being of the horse - Mike Tucker
Exceptional Achievement Award - For overwhelming courage, determination and sportsmanship - Hannah Francis
