Access and Bridleway Officer | Volunteer Roles

We are dedicated to enhancing and maintaining the UK’s equestrian access network, but we couldn’t do this without our team of local volunteers. In the last ten years alone, we have had 4,774 road incidents involving horses reported to us, highlighting the importance of safe off-road routes. We work with our volunteers to resolve issues,  explore opportunities for new access and proactively educate all users on sharing routes responsibly, so equestrians can enjoy and have access to safe places to ride and drive.

If you are passionate about equestrian access and want to make a lasting difference in your area, this could be the volunteer opportunity for you.

Our Access and Bridleway Officers:

  • Provide localised advice, support and assistance
  • Resolve issues with existing access
  • Launch new routes, public bridleways and fundraise to defend endangered rights of way for riders and carriage drivers
  • Source projects in your area and where appropriate seek to match funding from the Ride Out Fund.
