About us

Bigland Hall has an extensive range of horse-riding experiences with good facilities set in the stunning scenery close to the beautiful Lake Windermere. Horses are at the centre of what we do. It is important to us that the horses enjoy their work to make learning with us a truly magical experience.

We have qualified instructors in show jumping, showing, trail riding and hacking out. We also benefit from having specialist instructors in ‘Classical Dressage’ and RDA. We offer a range of truly talented horses capable of lateral work etc.

Competitions and clinics are held onsite and are available to riders who wish to bring their own horses as well as the opportunity to use our riding school horse and ponies.

Our educational programmes are catered to the individuals needs and can be delivered either short term or long term. Whilst offering out of school groups and activities such as Pony Club, Tiny Tots Club, Young Equestrian.

Whether it be a group activity or a private session we endeavour to meet our horses and clients needs and pride ourselves on having all the tools to ensure we make a positive experience for you and the horses.

Our Trail Rides are Famed for being some of the most extreme and adventurous horse riding in the UK. We offer these rides to skilled riders on a bespoke basis. With challenging and varied terrain, the Lake District is the perfect venue for adventurous riders.
