Stockham Farm Exmoor

About Us

We have two holiday cottages at Stockham Farm – The Piggery sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, and the Victorian Wing sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms/1 bathroom.  

Guests staying in either cottage with their horses can enjoy an idyllic tranquil location with fabulous views and amazing hacking across Exmoor right from the door – woodland tracks, moorland, open fields, riverside tracks, no big roads whatsoever.  

Our spacious loose boxes are within former stone farm buildings approx. 50 metres from the cottages, and we can offer turnout in fenced paddocks that surround the farm (including 2 field shelters). Depending which paddocks are available, guests can often see their horses grazing from their holiday cottage – and guests staying in The Piggery can see their horses in their stables from the dining room window!

We also offer warm wash off, plentiful parking and a heated tack room.  The fee for horses staying at Stockham is £20 per horse per night, to include stabling, turnout, straw and our own haylage.

We are an experienced equestrian family with our own horses here at Stockham, so don’t hesitate to ask any questions. We know the area very well so can advise of routes to take across Exmoor – carefully plotting specific routes for guests on the OS app if required.  For example, a circular ride from Stockham to the iconic clapper bridge at Tarr Steps, including a pub stop with tie up rail, takes approximately 4 hours.
