About me
I have over 20 years of coaching experience and have evented up to Advanced level, producing and competing my own horses throughout my career. My equestrian journey began in the Pony Club before progressing through British Horse Society qualifications, giving me a strong foundation in both practical riding and professional coaching. I now run my own yard, where I continue to produce young horses and currently compete at BE90 level.
I coach a wide range of riders, from young children through to adult and older riders, with much of my clientele consisting of grassroots competitors and leisure riders. I am passionate about helping riders enjoy their horses, build confidence, and achieve their goals — whether that is gaining confidence hacking, improving flatwork, preparing for competitions, or developing a stronger partnership with their horse.
Alongside my equestrian background, I hold a degree in psychology, which has greatly influenced my coaching approach. I specialise in confidence-building for riders and helping people understand situations from the horse’s perspective. I believe that successful training comes from patience, empathy, and clear communication between horse and rider, rather than placing blame on the horse for misunderstandings or human error.
My coaching is always tailored to the individual needs of both horse and rider. I pride myself on being patient, supportive, and approachable, creating a positive learning environment where riders feel encouraged and understood. I particularly enjoy helping people strengthen the bond with their horses and gain greater confidence and enjoyment from their riding.
In addition to lessons, I offer ongoing client support, including discussing goals, competition preparation and advice, and support between sessions where needed. I aim to be flexible with lesson times wherever possible to fit around clients’ schedules.
Lessons start from £30 per half-hour session. Travel is included within a 10-mile radius, and I am happy to travel further with additional travel costs applied.
