About me

I’m Jo Henbrey, a freelance riding instructor with over 30 years of experience helping riders of all ages and abilities. My focus is simple: clear, confidence-building coaching that puts horse welfare first.

I specialise in dressage and have trained and competed up to Inter II. I’ve represented Great Britain at two MCI European Championships—in Belgium (2022) and Le Mans, France (2025)—giving me valuable insight into the athleticism and brilliance of Iberian horses. I’ve also coached successful Quadrille teams, adding teamwork and precision to my approach. My teaching philosophy is straightforward: ethical, correct training that supports soundness and partnership. Whether you’re starting out, returning to riding, developing a young horse, or working on advanced movements, I’ll tailor lessons to your goals.
