About me

I bring over 35 years of coaching experience across BHS, Pony Club, Apprenticeship, RDA pathways, supporting equestrians from grassroots riders to advanced competitors. Having competed in all three disciplines and managed my own equestrian establishments, I understand the full journey of horse and rider development.

I’ve been fortunate to train and work at some of the most respected centres and colleges in the UK, including Talland Huntley and Hartpury. Much of my career has been dedicated to guiding students through their qualifications, giving them the tools, understanding and confidence they need to succeed. Supporting aspiring coaches as they develop their careers is something I particularly enjoy. My work with a range of RDA centres has equipped me with the skills to confidently coach disabled and neurodiverse students that meets their individual needs.

My ethos centres on the welfare of both horse and rider, underpinned by correct learning theory and an understanding of equine and rider psychology. I am passionate about developing secure, effective rider positions that enhance communication, partnership and enjoyment. I am known for being patient, supportive and especially understanding with nervous riders, always striving to instil confidence and make learning fun.
