About me

I have been coaching riders for over 50 years. I love when 'the penny drops', when horse and rider understand each other. For me, coaching is about communication, between me, the rider and, most importantly, the horse.

From a riding school background, I gained BHS qualifications, and later trained in Germany as a Bereiter, becoming an accomplished show jumper, and dressage rider. This involved training and competing horses at all levels up to Grand Prix, which I continued to do once back in the UK.

I have extensive experience with helping riders to gain a better understanding of their horse, both from a physical sense, but also from a psychological approach. My goal is to always train in a way that is best for the horse. I aim to teach riders to have a high regards for their horse as a valued partner. My main strength as a coach is forming a rapport with both riders and their horses. This helps me to understand the best way forwards for each individual. Being a psychotherapist (BA (Hons), my aim is to help riders to unleash their potential by understanding the psychology of their relationship with their horse.

Prices start from £60 per hour for a private lesson, plus travel. Please contact me for details of individual clinic costs, or a day rate for your yard or establishment. I am based in Wiltshire, and teach locally in the Devizes area. I teach adults all over the UK, and am willing to travel for full-day clinics.
