About me

I have over 25 years’ experience in the equestrian industry, working across a variety of disciplines. My background includes ten years as an international show jumping groom in Italy, travelling throughout Europe and America to 5* international shows. More recently, I have worked within the Integrity Unit at a Scottish racecourse, assisting the on-course veterinary team.

I hold UKCC Levels 1 and 2 Generic Equestrian Coaching qualifications and have more recently retrained through the British Horse Society, becoming a BHS Accredited Professional Coach. I enjoy coaching riders of all ages and abilities, from beginners to grassroots competitors. My coaching covers a wide range of goals, including improving dressage scores, introducing riders to jumping or showing, building confidence, or simply helping riders enjoy their horses more. I take great satisfaction in seeing clients progress and particularly enjoy supporting both ridden and non-ridden skills, including stable management, lunging, loading, clipping, and general horsemanship.

My strengths as a coach are my patience, understanding, and ability to build rider confidence, especially for nervous or less confident riders. I create a calm, supportive learning environment and take time to ensure riders feel safe, understood, and encouraged. I believe confidence and correct basics are key to long-term improvement.

My coaching philosophy is horse- and rider-centred, focusing on correct rider position, clear communication, and achievable goals. Sessions are structured yet enjoyable, with realistic plans that allow each partnership to progress at a pace that suits them. Welfare, clarity, and consistency underpin all my training methods, whether working on the flat, over fences, or on the ground.

Above all, I love coaching because I enjoy helping people grow — not just as riders, but in confidence, knowledge, and partnership with their horse.
