Essential First Aid Training for Equestrians

Would you know what to do to help save a life or provide medical assistance in the event of an incident or accident at your yard or whilst out riding with friends?

Being with and riding horses can be a dangerous environment, and accidents will and do happen. The BHS has teamed up with SkillBase First Aid to deliver a course that will provide life-saving essentials, from CPR to use of a defibrillator, management of falls and traumatic injury and is designed to give you the core confidence needed to handle equine related emergencies before professional help arrives.

This course will cover:-

Life Support
Basic Life Support (adult & child), recovery position, using an AED (defibrillator), and choking.

Trauma & Impact
Head, neck and back injuries, unconsciousness with suspected spinal injury, concussion and compression.

Wounds & Injuries
Bleeds and wounds, bone, muscle and joint injuries.

Whilst this course does not offer a recognised professional qualification, it will give you essential life saving skills and you will receive a certificate of attendance which will be valid for three years.

Cost: £50
