Job Summary

We're looking for someone truly unique to join our team at MA Equestrian — someone who loves horses AND has a passion for supporting children and young people with SEN.

We run a specialist Alternative Provision programme for young people who are unable to attend mainstream school, including those with SEMH needs, ASD, ADHD, anxiety, and PDA profiles. We use the power of horses to build confidence, resilience, and real life skills — and we are proud to deliver the BHS Changing Lives Through Horses (CLtH) programme.

We need someone brilliant to help us continue changing lives. Could that be you?

The role:

Boughton Mill, Welford Road, Chapel Brampton, Northampton

Part time — 20 to 25 hours per week

£25–£35 per hour dependent on experience

Term time

What you'll be doing:

✅ Delivering the BHS Changing Lives Through Horses (CLtH) programme alongside our BHS coaches

✅ Taking ridden sessions and stable management sessions

✅ Supporting children and young adults in all daily activities

✅ Lesson planning, scheduling, and tracking progress

✅ Writing parental and local authority progress reports

✅ Helping to create a calm, safe, and positive environment every single day

You'll need:

💚 Proven experience working with children with SEN, ADHD, ASD, SEMH, or anxiety

💚 Strong, hands-on experience with horses and ponies

💚 A calm, patient, and nurturing nature

💚 The ability to stay grounded and professional under pressure

💚 Excellent written communication skills

💚 Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to young people

✨ Bonus if you have experience in alternative provision, therapeutic settings, or hold qualifications in childcare, education, or equine care — but it's not essential. The right person and the right values matter most to us.

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. MA Equestrian is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

If this sounds like you, we would absolutely love to hear from you.
