About Reach Riders Group (RRG)
The overall aims of the Reach Riders Group (RRG) are to promote safe and enjoyable riding within the local community. RRG specifically aims to:
• Promote participation in, and provide facilities for riding.
• Encourage riding as a sport and recreation, to promote good fellowship amongst riders and to improve and maintain the standards of riding and horsemanship.
• Provide a facility which gives access to ride in a safe and designated area.
• Provide opportunities to ride in the local area.
• Encourage a good understanding between the local community and horse riders.
• Support the existence of Bridleways and Rights of Way with a view to opposing their closure.
• Concern itself with any subject which will benefit horses and riders in the local area. To achieve these aims RRG:
• Maintains and administrates the RRG Arena which was constructed in 2016 and it provides a safe space for riders of all levels to ride and jump. It is only open to Members.
• Arranges lessons in the Arena delivered by a Qualified Coach.
• Organises lectures on horse welfare and safety. These are open to non-members.
• Donates to World Horse Welfare in Norfolk.
• Organises social gatherings for local riders.
• Contributes to national campaigns, for example, Safe Riding for All.
• Contributes to local, regional and national groups seeking protection for Bridleways and Rights of Way.
• Promotes safe riding in the local area, e.g. signage.
• Organises an annual Ride Out between Christmas and New Year.
• Organises fund-raising events to cover the cost of arena maintenance.
• Maintains a Members Community Facebook group to support local riders and promote safe practices. FB posts are used to liaise with and support Members.
