About Galloway Trail Riders Group

Galloway Trail Riders Group organise group rides following a mapped route. 

The group's aims and objectives are as follows:

1. To promote safe riding routes for the benefit of the community.
2. To actively assist in keeping existing routes open and to develop new off-road routes, while collaborating with landowners and the local access officer.
3. To produce a map that displays the system of rideable routes.
4. To communicate with land providers regarding seasonal disturbances and to maintain open contact with them.
5. To locate parking areas and accommodations along routes for both horse and rider, and to identify local emergency contacts.
6. To provide an information point for local riders, including a phone contact.
7. To encourage responsible riding through a riding code and actively support riding and road safety initiatives.

Area covered: Galloway in South West Scotland.
