A bit about me...
"1.As a rider and carriage driver all my life, there is nothing that gives me greater joy than to explore the countryside by carriage with a lovely pony and a good friend. What a wonderful way to enjoy the changing seasons and our wildlife, driving along quiet roads, and tracks. My carriage driving journey started many years ago when my father trained one of our ponies to drive so he could still get to the pub after he had been banned from driving and occasionally, we would provide a pony and trap for friends’ weddings. When my children had riding ponies, I would train the ponies to drive as well to make sure they had enough exercise, taking part in pleasure drives and local events. Ten years ago, I trained my Dales pony to drive and continue to enjoy our partnership to the present day.
2. To give carriage drivers as well as horse riders a voice.
3. I began to find out more about rights of way when the BHS launched their Project 2026, encouraging equestrians to record historic riding and driving routes on the Definitive Maps held by county councils.
4. I was five years old when I sat on a pony for the first time. I have been fortunate to be able to continue my life with horses since then.
5. Joy, connection, freedom".
