A bit about me...
"Back in the 1970s I found to my horror that an important network of bridleways had arbitrarily been downgraded to footpaths by the local highway authority. I asked the BHS why they had not objected and they said they had no volunteer bridleways officer for my area. But, they said, join the BHS and the job's yours! Nearly fifty years on I am still doing it. I was a career local government officer and retired as an Assistant Director for the City of Sunderland. I was responsible for original development of the BHS training courses back in the 1990s and also wrote the text book "On the Right Track" - now out of print."
