A bit about me...

"I have had ponies since I was ten years old and really only wanted to ride as my older sister was really keen and I didn't want to be left out of the fun. The first pony we had was an unbroken three year old Shetland called Lucy. We rode her bareback for about a year and we fought constantly over who got to ride her. She was as fit as a fiddle! I have taken part in all riding club activities and done a bit of everything but my main passion has always been going out for nice long rides.

Since moving to Caithness in 2012 I wanted to find out where it was possible to ride but I really struggled to find good off-road routes. This is how I got involved as a volunteer. Ponies have kept me (fairly) sane over the years. I owe them so much! It is really hard to sum up ponies in three words but I think essential, sanity and freedom is a good start."
