A brand new story map has been created for the John Muir Way which provides a step-by-step guide to potential multi-use access barriers along the 134-mile route across central Scotland from Helensburgh to Dunbar.
Thanks to BHS Scotland’s countryside consultant Vyv Wood Gee and the Central Scotland Green Network Trust, horse riders can now use this story map to look at the route section by section and see any barriers they might encounter if they choose to ride it.
Like all of Scotland’s Great Trails the John Muir Way intends to be multi-use catering for all abilities and horse riders as well as walkers and cyclists.
The map and pictures will also hopefully help land managers work to eradicate obstacles to multi-use access.
