BHS Riding Out Safely Silver Challenge Award Bursary

Three lucky applicants will receive a bursary of up to £150 towards the cost of training and assessment for this Award at a BHS Approved Riding Centre of their choice in Lancashire.

The Award helps you build confidence and skills to ride safely on roads and when out and about. Learn how to plan routes and prepare yourself and your horse to enjoy the countryside.  Looking to take a professional career in the equine industry? This Award can help you get there and is a co-requisite of the BHS Stage 1 Ride award.

The cost of training and assessment for this Award is determined by the BHS Approved Centre of your choice. Before applying for the bursary please check with your chosen Centre about cost and availability, and if you can ride your own horse or whether you need to hire one of theirs. Minimum age is 11 years for the Award and if hiring a horse, please check with the Centres for rider weight limits.

The Centres will also advise on how they deliver their training and assessment in line with COVID Government Guidance. You currently do not need to be a member of the BHS to carry out the BHS Challenge up until 31 August 2021 or until further notice.

Entries open to any BHS member living in Lancashire.

The Award assessment must be taken before 3 October 2021.
