Massive Congratulations to new BHS Fellow, Sarah MacDonald

4 Dec 2018

Sarah started riding aged 5 years old and then nagged sufficiently to get her own pony at the age of 10 years and joined the Sandown Chase branch of the Pony Club, achieving her A Test at 17 years.

Once leaving school she trained for several years under Jennie Loriston-Clarke at Catherston Stud, which is where she learnt an enormous amount of her knowledge and understanding of horses, riding, training and coaching, that is also where her passion and enthusiasm for educating and coaching was created, whilst Eventing at the same time.

Sarah is a Pony Club International coach and a Pony Club Assessor from E Test to A Test, she is also a British Horse Society Chief Assessor up to BHSI level /Stage 5 and mentors other BHS Assessors through the levels, she is also a British Eventing Coach and feels that the broad range of knowledge and experience she has gained held her in good stead for the Fellowship exam.

Sarah runs a Competition Livery yard and is a freelance coach, training and assessing, whether it is to take professional assessments, staff training or achieve and enjoy their own horses.

Sarah feels she is so lucky to have a job that she loves, that fills her with pleasure and that she is enthusiastic about everyday.
