A total of 17 people, including children, enjoyed an introduction to Carriage Driving, organised by the volunteers of the North West Kent BHS Committee.
Sally Bullow does Showing and Pleasure Driving with her gorgeous Shetland, Dooley, whilst Sarah Wallis takes part in Carriage Driving Trials which have three phases - dressage, cones and marathon (the driving equivalent of eventing), with her Piebald Cob, J. All participants were taught how to harness and split into pairs to have a go themselves before having a drive of both ponies.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and due to the exceptional amount of interest (there were 35 names on the waiting list!), the Committee are planning to hold several similar sessions in 2019, so watch this space!
