The BHS COVID-19 Hardship Fund – A round-up

8 July 2021

Throughout the pandemic, our aim has been to provide as much tangible support as possible to everyone in the equestrian community. Riding schools in every BHS region have been supported during a challenging year of lockdowns by the BHS COVID-19 Hardship Fund, thanks in part to incredibly generous donations from the community.

With four rounds of our public COVID Appeal, alongside the BHS’s charitable reserves and waiving of 12 months’ worth of centre fees, over £1 million was made available for the ongoing care of riding school horses and ponies in the past year. This was a lifeline to many of our BHS Approved Centres, enabling them to keep going and be around for future generations of equestrians.

We’d like to say a big thank you to our regional committees, members and the wider community, who have made our Covid appeal our most successful fundraising appeal ever!

Now, with brighter days ahead of us, we look forward to supporting our centres and coaches in this recovery phase and building the industry back up together.
