Salary: £17,391 to £19,808 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
We are looking for a Technical Instructor to join our equine team at the Royal Borough of Greenwich Equestrian Centre.
As a Technical Instructor you will provide additional technical assistance to our lecturing staff. You will take responsibility in supervising work experience placements, volunteers, and students. As an instructor you will be demonstrating and providing practical instruction in Equine Studies to students following a variety of modes of study. Further responsibilities include supporting the range of commercial activities such as the riding school and hydrotherapy centre in which training will be provided.
As part of this role, you are required to be included on the rota for overnight cover. Accommodation is provided for this purpose and payment for overnight stays is made at £40 per night. On average there will be 8 overnights per month, this may change in line with the needs of the department.
The ideal candidate will have a level 3 or above equine vocational qualification. A teaching qualification, BHS stage 2 teaching or equivalent (or willingness to obtain) and level 2, or equivalent in maths and English are essential. The ability to communicate effectively is essential for this role along with at least one year’s relevant practical experience within the Equine industry.
