Help shape the future of your British Horse Society
In February we called for nominations for the British Horse Society 2019 Trustee elections. We are delighted to have accepted nominations from six individuals who believe they can make a positive difference by contributing their professional and personal skills to help govern the Society.
As you will remember the current Board of Trustees identified these three priority specialisms: Education, Welfare and Generalist. Now is the time for you to support the Society’s future growth and development by using your votes to choose candidates with the correct balance of skills, knowledge and experience.
As there is only one candidate for the Education specialist, in accordance with The British Horse Society Constitution, Sarah Simpson has been elected as BHS Specialist Trustee, Education. The Welfare specialist candidate has decided to stand down from the election process, and therefore there will not be an election for this area of specialism in 2019. The Board of Trustees is able to co-opt to the area of specialism to ensure continuity of welfare representation on the Board. There will be an election for the Generalist category, and three Generalist candidates will be elected this year. Please use your three votes to provide the BHS with the skills required to lead the Society forward.
Voting papers are available in the June issue of British Horse and must be received by 5.00pm on Friday, 12 July 2019.
All BHS Members, regardless of type or age, are eligible to vote. You may vote for three candidates from the Generalist specialism.
Together with the executive team, this role ensures that the BHS continues to deliver and develop varied opportunities for education in all areas of the Society’s work.
Meet your candidates
Our Generalist Trustees will support the Society to deliver on its core values; putting the Horse at the heart of all it does across its main areas of endeavour. They will act as an ambassador for the Society and champion its work across Access, Education, Safety and Welfare.
Three Generalist candidates will be elected this year, so you should vote the three candidates that you believe will best serve as a BHS Trustee.
Meet your candidates
