About me

As the proprietor of north Wiltshire based Rein & Shine Equestrian Centre, I am very passionate about improving partnerships for riders with their horses. My equine industry experience is extensive, rooted in a competitive background in Show jumping and the fast-paced discipline of Team Chasing. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the precision, bravery, and athletic balance required for high-level performance.

I coach a diverse range of clientele, from beginners finding their balance to competitive riders looking to refine their technique. Beyond individual sessions, and specialist clinics, I deliver CPD (Continued Professional Development) to other industry professionals and mentor students through their BHS Stages and qualifications. I specialise in developing horses, building confidence in riders, and technical jumping—specifically focusing on “A Safer Approach to Jump Coaching”. I regularly create progressive bespoke courses for private schools and residential camp providers in Horse Riding , and equitation.

My main strength as a coach is my analytical yet supportive approach. I am skilled at identifying the "root cause" of a rider’s struggle—often utilizing my centre’s Racewood Eventing Simulator to diagnose causes instead of symptoms for riders —and translating that into clear, actionable support. What I enjoy most about coaching is witnessing those "lightbulb moments" where horse and rider suddenly find their rhythm and confidence together. Passing on the tools to rider’s to assess their own learning and performance is key for every coach to facilitate long-term improvement.

To provide the best quality support , I focus on helping riders understand what they are riding, really looking at conformation, weaknesses and strengths in our horses – then learning to become that horse’s enabler, instead of his blocker. I provide bespoke progression plans, for riders and development plans for their horses.

My coaching philosophy is firmly centred around horse welfare, and development of the rider knowledge. The rider is an asset to the horse’s movement., it’s always my intention that rider’s understand why. My training ethos follows a logical, structured process designed to gain consistent improvement while always prioritising the physical and emotional welfare of the horse. I want my riders to leave every session feeling inspired, confident, and empowered to reach their next milestone.
