About me
I have been coaching for over 20 years. My experience is with first generation horses, having produced my own ponies all the way through to Senior - Nations’ Cup and Grand Prix success. Highlights include reaching the Top 60 ranking in the world (FEI - Showjumping). My experience allows me to offer specialised training in competition ring skill, preparation including lines, angles and relative distances. I can provide advanced courses to prepare people to go out competing at all levels..
My clients are predominantly showjumping riders at every level from trot poles all the way to competing at international level. My main coaching strengths are in assessing clients and building up their confidence, I will push people to achieve their goals. I find great joy in the smile on people's faces when they go to a competition after having had a lesson and seeing an improvement. My clients know I am always available for them to send videos, to assess and give advice over the phone. I encourage people to go out and compete and put into practice the skills that they have learnt with me. My coaching philosophy is based on building up confidence and belief, between the rider and horse; always being honest when things aren't working and that you may need a different strategy. When training horses I feel it is vitally important to give them time to build confidence and belief in the partnership with their rider, and to work as a team, between the horse, rider and the coach..
My session prices are dependent on my travel and set up times - the price varies depending on 1-2-1 and group sessions / if livery or not and arena hire costs. I am happy to travel.
Having competed at the highest level, I have over 40 years’ experience of seeing changes in the sport, my clients say that I am enthusiastic, hard-working and honest with my appraisals. The greatest feeling is when a new client, having come in very nervous, is able to go away with a smile on their face having achieved something which they didn't believe they were able to.
