About me

I have over 10 years of professional experience within the equestrian industry, with a background spanning dressage, showjumping and eventing. During this time, I have worked on professional event yards, dressage yards, riding schools and studs, giving me a broad and practical understanding of horse management, training systems and rider development at varying levels.

I now run my own livery yard and training facility in Weston-super-Mare, where I combine high standards of care with structured, progressive training. My experience across multiple yard environments has shaped my attention to detail, work ethic and belief that correct foundations are key to long-term success for both horse and rider.

While I now focus primarily on dressage with my own horses, I continue to coach across all disciplines, including showjumping and eventing. My background allows me to support riders who wish to compete, improve technically, or simply gain confidence and enjoyment in their riding.

I am particularly experienced in working with young and green horses, retraining projects, and combinations who feel they have reached a plateau in their training. Alongside private coaching, I offer BHS exam training and regularly run polework, gridwork, groundwork and dressage clinics. I enjoy breaking down exercises into clear, achievable steps so that riders understand not just what to do, but why they are doing it.

My teaching philosophy centres on the correct, progressive training of the horse while educating the rider to develop feel, timing and awareness. I am passionate about improving each horse’s way of going through systematic exercises, always working in alignment with the Scales of Training. My aim is to create confident, knowledgeable riders and happy, well-produced horses that can progress sustainably through the levels.
