Kielder Forest Carriage Drive

Event Details

British Horse Society, in partnership with Forestry England, is pleased to be hosting a carriage drive in Kielder Forest.

Starting from Kielder Campsite, located near Kielder Castle, participants can enjoy an incredible drive through one of the UK's most scenic forests, taking in stunning views of both the forest, castle and Kielder Water.

Route Options

Route 1 – Approximately 4.5–5 km

• Suitable for small and very small equines not exceeding 13hh.
• A shorter route offering a wonderful opportunity to explore the beauty of Kielder Forest.
• £21 per carriage

Route 2 – Approximately 16 km

• Suitable for larger ponies and horses 
• A longer route offering a wonderful opportunity to explore the beauty of Kielder Forest.
• Please note that there is a narrow bridge on the route with a maximum width of 180cm.  There is an alternative route available, 
• £31 per carriage

Important Information

• Access is via Kielder Campsite, near Kielder Castle.
• Please note due to a bridge leading into the car park, there is a maximum weight limit of 7.5 tons.

Come and enjoy a fantastic day of carriage driving in the breathtaking surroundings of Kielder Forest, with beautiful woodland and lakeside scenery throughout the route. Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.
