Event Coach & Arena Cross Country Training Day with Sarah Simpson BHSI Performance Coach and BHS Chief Assessor.
This training day is for anyone looking to improve their cross country knowledge and skills and will look at the level required for BHS Stage 3, 4 & 5 event coach.
The content is aimed at candidates working towards coaching assessments, trainers to keep up to date with the assessment standard, coaches wanting to improve their knowledge as well as students and riders wanting a clearer understanding of the technicalities to jumping cross country fences.
The course aims to:
- Analyse different methods of coaching.
- Outline the requirements of the BHS Stage 3, 4 & 5 event coach
arena cross country assessments.
- Consider how to coach a group of riders in the arena eventing
lesson over fences up to 1.10m, evaluating horse and rider
strengths, ability, confidence and areas for development.
- Develop knowledge and depth of understanding around the
technicalities of jumping individual cross country jumps and
- Walking distances, lines to fences and corners.
The day is planned to be informative and interactive with people having the opportunity to discuss training as well as coaching skills/techniques.
The day counts as 6 points for BHS APC's and is approved as Pony Club CPD.
