Isle of Man Welfare Week: Balanced Feeding

19 Apr 2022

Tuesday 19 April | 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm

The opening event of our Welfare Week 2022 looks at equine nutrition and feeding Horses for their Work.

Do you know what level of work counts as ‘hard work’ or ‘light work’? Do you know how hard your horse is actually working? And what feed it needs to carry out its work to the best of its ability?

Feeding too much or too little can cause a variety of issues, including colic, laminitis, gastric ulcers and many more, putting the health and welfare of the horse at risk.

Jo Howie will be delving into this and helping us work out how to balance your horse’s feed to its workload.

Doors open: 7 pm for a prompt start at 7.15 pm.

Tickets cost: £5, plus booking fees, and include light refreshments.

Jo Howie Equine Therapist, BSc (Hons), EEBW. Jo gained a 1st class Honours in Equine Sports Therapy, inclusive of equine nutrition, equine performance nutrition, equine feed technology and equine health management alongside sports therapy.
