Progressive Riding Tests
What are they?
There are two sets of Progressive Riding Tests (PRTs) – one set for juniors and a standard set.
The Junior PRTs have 10 levels, five in stable management and five in riding. Starting with the basics and progressively getting more challenging these are great for novices and younger children.
The Standard PRTs have 12 levels, six in stable management and six in riding. These start with some simple exercises and work their way up to exercises in canter, without stirrups and knowing different sorts of tack and how to put it on the horse. These are for any rider wanting to learn a little bit more, set themselves some goals and gain confidence in their skills around horses.
After you pick which set you are going to work through – can also choose to do just the stable management or just the ridden tests if you wish – you can start learning and practicing the tasks with your coach.
As you achieve each of the tasks your coach will tick them off and once you have completed all tasks in a level you will be awarded a certificate. You can then move onto the next level.
We also have badges available for completing each level.
How can I start?

Is there a cost?
There is no cost to register for the PRTs, and there is no fee for the certificates. You will only need to pay for your training with your coach or at your centre.
We do offer badges for each level of the PRTs, there is a small charge for these should you wish to order them.
