A bit about me...
"I have been doing this role for about 6 years now, I am also on a National committee (VPEG) to help guide BHS volunteering policy. I owned my first horse at 53 before that I had ridden other people's in many parts of the country and I could not believe how few places to go for a decent ride that there were off the yard where I kept my horse. I therefore decided that I would try to open up more places to ride. (This is also a safety issue - to help keep riders on safe places to ride, rather than busy roads) This is a slow and difficult process - I see myself more as a PR person rather than one that can pore over ancient documents, to find forgotten rights of way!
I believe that all off-road rights of way should be open to all non-motorised traffic and to achieve this we ought to be universally on-side with walkers and cyclists. I have always loved horses and my best friend at junior school had ponies so I rode hers - I went on the volunteering at a riding school for free rides and have ridden other people's till I got my own 14 years ago. He is an ex-racer and we still plod around together even though we have a joint age of over 90!
Horses in three words: For the Feeling sums it up perfectly!"
