BHS Approved Livery Yards | Information & Resources
When it comes to finding somewhere to keep their horses, it’s only natural that horse owners will want to be sure that they are in safe hands.
And when it comes to finding a Livery Yard or Showing Yard we advise everyone to seek those that have been approved by The British Horse Society.
It means all of their staff have met with our training and qualification standards; that they are insured for public liability and comply with the latest Health and Safety legislation; and that they are subject to strict and unannounced annual inspections.
Better for your business
There are now more than 960 BHS Approved Centres in the UK, Ireland and worldwide. We use three levels of grading: Approved (A), Commended (C) and Highly Commended (HC). Highly Commended is the highest level that can be achieved and there are compulsory and optional sections of the criteria.
It shows a centre has been assessed against detailed criteria and recognised as being well managed, offering first rate customer care, high levels of horse husbandry and general good practice throughout. So it’s good for the whole industry, good for the public and, ultimately, good for business.
