About Us

Established in 1970 by Gloria Taylor, we continue to operate as a small friendly, family run BHS approved Riding School based in the heart of Epping Forest, Essex.

Gloria started the riding school through her complete love of horses. Venture, her first school horse was so named as this was her exciting new venture. Now, some 52 years later we are still here with a lot more horses all of whom Gloria recognises as her Business Partners and best friends. We are also lucky enough to have a valued customer base, some of whom are 3rd generation and some who went onto become BHS qualified Instructors who now Coach for us.
What we can offer are private lessons which are available for all abilities, as well as group lessons for more advanced riders.

Forest hacks can be booked by experienced assessed riders but we also offer Led Walkouts through the Forest for beginners or those just looking for a horsey experience!

BHS training for beginner stages can be arranged throughout the year. Beginner jumping courses, fun rides, day camps and competitions for children are all available during the school holidays.

For adults we have day rides, pub rides and through the summer our the ever popular Dawn Ride which leaves at 5am.

Birthday Parties are a firm favourite among the children both existing customers and new!

Work experience and apprenticeships are welcome as we are keen to support those wishing to learn and qualify to work in the equine world.

But, our overall goal is to help those looking to learn or improve their equestrian skills whether it be for casual hacking, to buy their own horse, or to go on to bigger and better things Competing or Coaching. We feel we offer a valuable service as a stepping stone for whatever the customer is looking for.
