About us

Welcome to Happy Hooves Riding Centre. We are situated in the heart of Cumbria just outside of Penrith, 2 minutes from junction 40 on the M6.

Located on the banks of the River Eamont, the riding school has a delightful rural outlook over the river.

We are we open 65 days a week to provide high quality riding lessons, hacks, equine therapy and pony days to both children and adults.

We pride ourselves in being very friendly and family orientated by providing a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

We cater for all levels of riders from the complete beginner through to the more experienced, we cater for riders from 2 years old through to adults.

We have a wide variety of horses and ponies to ride for all abilities which are fully trained to ensure both the safety and enjoyment to our customers.

All Staff are qualified to ensure your visit to us is enjoyable and to be able to progress your riding skills whether it’s for pleasure or to gain the confidence to compete in any equestrian discipline.

We are the only riding school in the area to have our own Horse simulator, the most advanced of its type in the world. Mr Williams can offer technical riding lessons to nervous or returning riders and beginners through to advanced dressage riders.

Mr Williams also has a RDA (riding for the disabled) programme specially installed who can benefit riders with cerebral palsy, learning difficulties and autism.

We also offer our very popular ‘Pony Parties’ and we recommend you book early due to current demand.

We have own affiliated Vaulting Club gymnastics on horseback

Please Note the maximum weight for riders is 14 stone (riders will be weighed at our discretion).
