About me

I am a BHS Stage 3 Coach and I have been teaching since 2009. I am a Challenge Awards and Pony Stars Coach and a Ride Safe Instructor. I am a Pony Club Instructor and teach for local Pony Clubs. I teach at local riding schools and provide private freelance tuition to riders on their own horses, either at their yard or at my own. I have a holistic approach to teaching. A course of lessons often starts with a groundwork session where I assess horse and rider from the ground and help with any handling and connection issues first. I look at your horse's general well-being, environment, feed, turnout, tack and any physical issues as part of my sessions. I can also help the rider with mindset and emotional baggage release through Reiki and breathwork. I am a Reiki Master and Animal Reiki Practitioner and I offer Reiki to both horse and owner. Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of natural hands on, energy-based healing that balances, soothes, relieves pain, reduces symptoms and accelerates healing. I have helped horse and rider partnerships to overcome fears, to work through problems and to form strong partnerships based on trust and connection. Having worked with children and adults with special needs at equine therapy centre's and as an RDA Instructor, I am fully equipped to teach people with any differing needs such as autism. I have a calm and logical approach to teaching and break down exercises into easy steps for children with processing issues. In the past, I have competed at local level in dressage, show jumping and one day eventing. I now practice natural horsemanship at home with my own horses. I am completely non-judgmental, and I help leisure and grass roots riders to enjoy building partnerships with their horses, whatever they would like to do with them. My yard is based in Buckinghamshire MK18, but I can travel into Herts, Beds, Bucks and Oxon. A small mileage charge is added if you are outside a 10-mile radius of my base.
