Allison Barfoot

About me

I’m based on the Somerset Dorset border and can coach locally and internationally. I also offer video analysis online and over zoom. My passion and experience is in eventing and I have competed up to Intermediate horse trials. I coach and teach juniors and seniors and offer sessions in stable management, riding, exam preparation and the challenge awards. I am fairly adaptable and enjoy working with a variety of clients.

I’m psychologically aware as I’m a Centre10 Coach which means I’m continually learning with many other coaches across the country to develop and enhance how I coach and continually seek to improve my skills. I work with and am aware how the mind influences riders thoughts and performance and work with riders and their support network to focus on working through a process to success, what ever success looks like to that athlete.

I’ve got a good sense of humour which often comes in handy when situations don’t go to plan and when working in the British weather. I’m a mother of 2 grown up girls who have both been through the pony club, and I can understand the parent side of being an horsey parent.

I’ve often been described as an effective rider and Isla Auty FBHS once said out of a group of trainee BHSI’s that she would choose me as her rider, which I thought was an amazing compliment. Although now I’ve had both of my hips replaced, I stick to riding my own horse!
