About me

I have experience in coaching riders at all levels and from all sorts of backgrounds. I spent 10 years teaching at Summerhouse Equestrian, which gave me a wide experience of teaching both children and adults in a riding school setting. I currently freelance, which includes private clients coming to me or me travelling to where they are based. I also teach at Adult camps. In 2011, I gained the Centered Riding Level 1 Teaching qualification. Centered Riding is a rider based education devised by the wonderful Sally Swift. Centered Riding has helped me to help riders achieve their riding goals by developing a greater degree of body awareness through Sally's 4 basics (Centering, Breathing, Building Blocks and Soft eye focus). I also attend many clinics and have lessons on my own horse, with trainers who train from the classical perspective. In 2022, I have started to run "Alexander Technique" clinics for riders, in conjunction with my Alexander Teacher, Mike Mcullough. Teaching/coaching riding is my passion and I regularly get comments such as "I have got so much from that lesson" "Wow why I havent I been taught that before
