In July 2020, Louis Hall and his Highland mare ‘Irelanda’ began their journey ‘The Big Hoof’ taking them the length of the UK from John O’ Groats to Land’s End to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The epic adventure took 57 days, averaging between 18-22 miles a day. Join us for this fascinating talk with spectacular photos documenting his trek.
A brief into insight into his motivation to take on this journey is as follows:
“In 2015, Leo, a family friend of mine, died from Cystic Fibrosis. He was 26. Leo was an incredible inspiration, friend and human being to everyone he met. I am now not so much younger than he was when he died, and during the spread of the Coronavirus, I realised how many people with underlying health issues, such as CF, would need serious help and support during, and after, the spread of the virus.”
Louis will be sharing with us his top tips for planning his route, caring for his horse as they trekked through the varying terrain with inspiration and ideas for anyone wanting to plan their own adventure!
