Side saddle riding may be traditional, but it is not old-fashioned! Why not Have a Go?
If you have been thinking about trying it for the first time, or if you are considering picking it up again after a break, or even if you are wondering if this could be how you arrive at the church on your wedding day – here’s your chance! Side saddle also offers a wonderful opportunity to extend an older horse's competitive life and to participate in displays around the country.
The session will be on a mechanical horse simulator in an indoor classroom environment - so no waterproofs required! The sessions will be delivered in groups of four and will last around 75 minutes.
Riders will be shown the saddle, how it fits, how to mount and how to sit correctly in the saddle, before being tutored by BHS and Side Saddle Association instructor and well accredited judge Valerie Hodgett, for 15 minutes in walk, trot and canter on the extremely well behaved mechanical horse, Troy! During the session, there will be plenty of opportunities to have all your side saddle questions answered.
£15 per rider.
Book your place
