The BHS and Merseyside Police are inviting you for a second opportunity to celebrate the reopening of the newly refurbished stable block. Alongside a fascinating demonstration giving you insight to how the police train their horses to prepare them for life on the front line. They will give lots of helpful tips and tricks on how you can work with your own horses to desensitise them to every day scenarios making life safer for you and your horse. This will be a fantastic experience for all the family and also help to support one of the best mounted divisions in the country.‚Äč

We welcome you to see an exclusive behind the scenes at one of the busiest mounted Police divisions. Their main duties include policing large scale events, such as music festival, football and rugby matches, attending demonstrations and protests, civil disorder situation and patrolling the city centre on a Friday and Saturday night to keep the public safe. Other than the dynamic of crime fighting the mounted section pride themselves on being approachable and family friendly part of the police force and welcome any of the public to come and meet the horses and officers whilst out and about on the daily beats. 

At this exclusive event you will be lead through the day by Lindsay Gavin, the Manager and Trainer at Merseyside Mounted Section. She is a National Mounted Police Advanced Instructor and Assessor and holds her BHS Stage 4 Senior Coach in Complete Horsemanship qualification. Her role covers all aspects of stable management , including training of both Horses and Staff in the department.

Cost: £10 per person.

Time: 10am – 1pm

All proceeds will be split equally between Merseyside Mounted Police Stand Tall Campaign and The BHS Charity.
